Workstation requirements

The system requirements to use Clinical Reference Viewer on a workstation are described in the following table:

Note: Clinical Reference Viewer is part of the McKesson Radiology image-viewing platform, intended to address the needs of report-centric PACS users interested in viewing images as references on a wide variety of computing platforms. To meet this need, Clinical Reference Viewer is designed to comply with World Wide Web Consortium (W3C®) standards such that any compliant Internet browser may provide basic Clinical Reference Viewer functionality.

We support Clinical Reference Viewer running on a number of Internet browsers, specifically those compliant with HTML 4.01, Javascript™ 1.5, and CSS 1.0, accessible via HTTP 1.1, with TLS 1.2.

Due to the large number and continual evolution of desktop, laptop, mobile-browser and OS environment combinations, we reserve the right to defer to future McKesson Radiology releases the resolution of issues found in environments not listed in the representative examples above.


When you log in to Clinical Reference Viewer, the following messages may be displayed on the Login page:

Your login failed. Please try again or contact an administrator for assistance.

One of the following conditions may apply:

  • Your password has expired. See Changing your password.
  • You have been locked out of your account.
  • Your account has expired.
  • Access to the system is denied.
  • You are not authorized to log in to Clinical Reference Viewer on the current workstation.
  • A server or system error has occurred.

If changing your password does not resolve the issue, do one of the following:

  • Close the Clinical Reference Viewer Login page, wait a few minutes, and then restart Clinical Reference Viewer.
  • Contact your system administrator.
The user name and password combination you have entered is incorrect. Please try again.

Clinical Reference Viewer cannot match the user name to the password you specified. Do the following:

  1. In the User name field, ensure that you specified the correct user name. Retype the name if necessary.
  2. In the Password field, retype the password.

Javascript is disabled in your browser. In order for McKesson Radiology Clinical Reference Viewer to function, you need to enable Javascript.

Javascript is not enabled in your Web browser. To ensure that Clinical Reference Viewer is displayed correctly, enable Javascript.

  1. On the Login page, click Change password.
    The Change your password page is displayed.
  2. In the User Name field, type your user name.
  3. In the Enter Current Password field, type your current password.
  4. In the Choose a New Password field, type a new password.
    Note: For security reasons, specific password complexity requirements may be configured for your site. For details, contact your system administrator.
  5. In the Confirm your New Password box, retype your new password.
  6. Click Save.

    The user name and current password combination you entered is incorrect. Do the following:

    1. In the User Name field, ensure that you specified the correct user name.
    2. In the Enter Current Password box, ensure that you specified the correct password. Retype the new password if necessary.
    The password confirmation does not match. Please enter your new password again.

    Your new password could not be confirmed, as the confirmation password you specified does not match the new password. Do the following:

    1. In the Choose a New Password box, ensure that you specified the correct password. Retype the new password if necessary.
    2. In the Confirm your New Password box, type the password exactly as specified in the Choose a New Password box.
    3. Click Save.
    Your password did not meet the minimum password requirements. Please re-enter your password or contact your administrator for assistance.

    Your site may be configured to recognize certain password complexity requirements. For example, a requirement may be that a password can contain no more than 10 alphanumeric characters.

    To locate Internet Explorer®, perform the following steps:

      The list of available applications is displayed.
    2. In the list, click Windows Accessories, and then click Internet Explorer.
